Groundwork South Yorkshire administers the local funding of the Tesco Bags of Help scheme across local areas including: Barnsley, Doncaster, Hoyland, Penistone, Rotherham, Sheffield Central, Sheffield, Wath upon Dearne and Maltby.

Bags of Help is Tesco’s exciting local community grant scheme  where the money raised by the sale of carrier bags is being used to fund thousands of local projects in communities right across the UK. The proceeds generated from the sale of these bags is now being given to good causes across the country. Tesco Bags of Help has given out £265,595 to 62 community projects between March 2016 - April 2017.

Grants up to £4000 are available to projects that benefits to the community. The types of projects funded will be very broad and will cover direct costs needed to deliver the project, this could range from: Purchasing items which will benefit local community groups; improvements to a building that benefits the local community; developing an outdoor space; running a community event or activity and supporting seasonal activities.

For more information on the scheme visit the Tesco Community Scheme website here.
