Glyn joined Groundwork as a Green Doctor in 2011. He was responsible for helping local people who were at risk of fuel poverty by providing them with advice and energy measures that would help them reduce their fuel bills. However, when that project ended he moved on the the allotments project as an allotment officer.
Glyn now manages the allotment project where he is responsible for overseeing the 69 allotment sites. This includes dealing with tenant issues, meeting with plot holders, site visits, liaising with other organisations and tracking the team's performance.
He also manages the Green Team and is responsible for everything from marketing materials, quotes, dealing with customers and contractors as well as all aspects of project management.
Highlight of the role: Having a mixed indoor, outdoor working environment as well as the trust to tackle a goal or project in my own way
Why Groundwork South Yorkshire is great: It’s a relaxed working atmosphere. You're given the trust and freedom to get things done in your own way but also you're given the support should you ever face something you're unsure about.
