On 13th October, Groundwork South Yorkshire hosted its annual showcase event to hear from the people we work with just how our projects have impacted on and changed their lives over the past year.
The event included fantastic presentations from a number of beneficiaries relating to the four E’s of Groundwork South Yorkshire’s work: Education, Enterprise, Employment and Environment. It featured participants from our market leading NCS (National Citizen Service) programme, one of our Community Work Placement hosts, a recipient one of our Tesco Bags of Help grant awards and a tenant from the Barnsley Allotments talking about his two allotments – Al and Lotty.
The event also included a celebration of our Talent Match Enterprise Camp participants with a short ‘graduation’ ceremony and an interactive exhibition, enabling guests to experience a young person's path from initial engagement with our Empowerment team to striking out on their own as an entrepreneur through bite-sized ‘tasters’ of the Groundwork South Yorkshire Enterprise Journey.
