Keeley is currently completing an apprenticeship at a local garage. Here is her story.
“Through my housing association, I got introduced to a Groundwork Talent Match coach. At the time, I was no where; I had no income, nothing and I’d had to grow up quickly because I’ve got two kids.
I know it sounds funny but I’ve always dreamt of becoming a mechanic! I told my coach about my ambitions and soon enough she’d found this apprenticeship and encouraged me to apply.
My Talent Match coach was always at the end of the phone and she even came to the interview with me! I’m so grateful. Once I got offered the role, the Talent Match barrier busting fund allowed me to get a textbook I needed to buy and also some boots and an overall.
I absolutely love my apprenticeship. I’d 100% recommend Talent Match to anyone. I finally feel like I’m getting somewhere; it’s great for myself and I’m also building a better future for my kids.”
