Kyle talks about his experience on Groundwork's Enterprise Camp.
"First of all, we were split into two teams. Our challenge was to design some wall art that we would try to sell at a local pop-up shop.
We began the challenge by doing some research and looking at inspiration. Our team were all passionate about gaming; especially retro games.
From a business perspective, we knew this would sell because people are always willing to pay for feelings, particularly nostalgia.
After deciding on our subject, we received a budget of £50 and were given trade catalogues to pick out what we needed. This was a great exercise because not only did we need to think carefully about our design but we also had to work out all the pricing, including VAT.
I’ve really enjoyed the camp because it’s given me the chance to put what I studied at college to practical use. I studied digital media and concept art but I’d never really had the opportunity to put my studies into practice.
I’m now working with the Princes’ Trust to set up my own business designing and producing 3D models so this camp has been really useful for me."
