Alongside enjoying their city centre student flats, the participants take part in a number of activities throughout the week. The daily workshops are designed to help the young people learn new skills and to engage with their local community.
One of the skills gained on NCS is spending time away from home. Whether it be for university or for work, it’s likely that many participants will soon move out of the house they grew up in.
This phase of NCS gives each teenager a level of independence whilst providing a safety net with staff on hand 24 hours a day.
We took a trip down to Pinnacles one evening to catch up with everyone.
In the evenings, the teams get to spend some of their time going out for food (or ordering food in!) and socialising.
There is a huge outdoor courtyard and also a common room complete with snooker tables, projector and games.
Now you’ve seen the university part of the experience, we’ll check in next time with more details about the workshops taking place each day. Stay tuned!
