“I started on Talent Match in July. I have suffered with anxiety disorder for nine years. This has had a really big effect on my life, making the most simple things difficult.
”I was not receiving any benefits even though I knew I was entitled to them. I was too scared to go to my appointmentsas my anxiety seemed to be heightened when I had to go. I would get there and end up walking out.”
“I didn’t start to recover till I got to the Women’s Centre. I was supported to run a domestic abuse course that I had created myself. Then I had chance to apply for a job at Changing Lives. At first I thought I wasn’t ready for this, but then I decided that with my new-found confidence, self-esteem and skills I wanted to give it a try – I mean, I was there anyway volunteering! The Talent Match coaches wanting me to do well made a big difference to me.”
“The day after the interview I received a phone call to say I got the job! I phoned Andrea and Cath to tell them and they were screaming down the phone.
“I am now comfortable in my job and my confidence is growing. Without Talent Match I would have been lost in the system and I feel I would have been forgotten and left with very little support. Talent Match allows people like me to feel valued, support and a part of something.”
“I feel like I am stepping forward in my life.”
