As part of Groundwork’s commitment to engaging with young people who are struggling to find work or access education, a Pamper Day was arranged for potential Talent Match clients to attend in Thurnscoe.
The aim was to engage with young people in the community in a relaxed and enjoyable way. Twenty potential Talent Match clients attended and enjoyed nail painting, gel nail application and makeovers!
Also up for grabs were two pamper baskets. The lucky winners were the ones who managed to guess closest to the price of the contents. This competition was designed to show how health and beauty treatments are still accessible on a budget.
The event resulted in five eligible participants leaving contact details to meet with Talent Match coaches at a later date to find out how they can be best supported.
We caught up with Groundwork’s Talent Match coach Jason who was there on the day.
“Some of our younger clients have never had a job. They have skills but they’re not sure how to promote themselves to potential employers. This can cause them to feel separated from the employment market.
Just from today we can already see that some of them have become more optimistic about their future. Throughout the day, they’ve become aware of the support available and the fact that Talent Match tailors its support methods to each person.”
